Welcome to Hotel Breitenburg

Since November 1, 2021, the former stables of the Breitenburg Count’s estate have been shining in new splendor. The exterior walls of the historic estate complex have been preserved as a designated historic site, while the rest of the hotel has been completely rebuilt to the latest standards. This blend creates an intriguing interplay between tradition and modernity.

Sven Sausmikat, managing partner of Hotel Breitenburg, describes it this way: "You walk in and it smells like wood, not plastic. The floors are made of Breitenburg oak planks, and every window offers a view of nature. From the very beginning, it was important to us to use high-quality products and natural materials throughout and to avoid using Chinese wood. We also prioritize sustainability in the restaurant. Our offerings range from 100% Fair Trade tea to regional beer suppliers. You won’t find a Kölsch on our menu.”

This attention to detail is reflected not only in the magnificent exterior of the historic Osterholz estate. It becomes evident everywhere as soon as you step inside. The natural walls, the high ceilings, and the lighting in the grand hall are reminiscent of the Great Hall in the Harry Potter films. The open kitchen in the center of the restaurant inspires you to plan a cooking event with friends. The floors in the rooms practically invite you to walk barefoot. In the maisonette suites, a solid wooden staircase leads up to the double bed on the loft. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the Breitenburger Canal, the golf course, or the tranquil courtyard. Every room exudes a warm, heartfelt welcome.

Guests can look forward to a team that combines professionalism with warmth, a cozy and elegant restaurant, and 80 rooms of the finest quality.
