Welcome to the Golf Club Schloss Breitenburg.

We would like to introduce you to our marshals who can regularly be found on the course looking for ways to ensure a reasonable pace of play and make sure the players stick to the course policies: Harald Rosenau, Heinz Georg Drensler, Klaus Voß, Matthias Luther, and Thorsten Wezel.

You can always reach out to them with any questions, requests or concerns. In case of an emergency, the marshals are equipped with a first-aid kit and a defibrillator.

Golf courses are there to be enjoyed by all golfers, so part of your responsibility is to take care of the course while you are on it. Therefore, we kindly ask you to:

  • Only play if you are registered and qualified to play golf on our course.
  • Make sure to keep up the pace of play (one hole behind the previous flight at most).
  • Stick to our golf policies and etiquette.
  • Leave the course tidy and clean.

An overview of marshal duties:

  • Pay attention to whether the players stick to the golf policies and rules.
  • Make sure all divots are replaced.
  • Make sure pitch marks are repaired.
  • Make sure that players rake sand bunkers
  • Pay attention that golf carts and trolleys are not used between greens and ponds or close to or through a hazard, tee, edge of greens and greens.
  • Make sure that no one plays with range balls.
  • Ensure that cigarettes are disposed in an ashtray.

Regarding the pace of play, the marshals make sure that:

  • If space opens up in front of one flight, a faster group is allowed to play through.
  • the player whose ball might be in danger of being lost has played a provisional ball.
  • If it is unlikely to find the ball, consider completing the hole with the provisional ball instead of looking for the ball for the whole three minutes.
  • In a Stableford competition, balls should be picked up when they are effectively out of the hole in (max. of 8 at a Par 3, max. of 9 at a Par 4, max of 10 at a Par 5).
  • Golf bags or carts are positioned to allow for quick and efficient movement off the green towards the next tee.
  • As soon as all players are done, they have to leave the green.
  • Players stick to tee times.

Violations

In the case of a violation of the course policies and etiquette, the player will be directly approached by our marshals. If needed, the marshal might demand the player’s name and report him/her to the secretary/manager.

In the event of repeated violations and/or serious violations, the marshal has the right to expel the player from our golf course.

Being a marshal can be a tough job, and all our marshals are volunteering to help all of us - so please be kind.

Thank you very much!
